WA / Solicitor's Trust Account

Trust Account Auditing Services for Western Australian Law Practices

Our firm comprises auditors who are individually approved External Examiners registered with the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia (LPBWA). We provide independent trust account audits to help WA law practices comply with the Legal Profession Uniform Law (WA) and the Legal Profession Uniform General Rules 2015.

Appointment of an External Examiner

Law practices that have received or held trust money during the financial year (excluding transit money) are required to appoint an External Examiner to examine their trust records. The appointment must be made in accordance with the guidelines provided by the LPBWA.

Current external examiners are listed toward the bottom of the page at https://www.lpbwa.org.au/external-examiners.

Trust Examination Period

The trust accounting year in Western Australia runs from 1 April to 31 March. During this period, we examine trust records to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Lodgement of the Examiner's Report

Following the examination, we are required to lodge the External Examiner's Report with the LPBWA. This must be completed by 31 May each year.

An EER should be lodged by email to TAI@lpbwa.com
